Festivities

Friday

Barbeque 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Please join us for a casual cook-out and get-together at Pat and Ellen's house. We'll throw some local beef burgers on the grill, drink some of our favorite beers, and catch up with those who've traveled far to see us. Afterwards we'll roll down to Greenfield for another drink (or two) and the People's Pint, our favorite local watering hole!

Saturday

Pre-wedding
This is sort of an all-hands on deck affair. If you feel like coming by early and helping with decorations, flowers or just to enjoy the fields and woods, please swing by Pat and Ellen's house at any time on Saturday!

Ceremony 3:00pm
Weather permitting, we'll be having a Quaker(ish) Meeting outdoors in a clearing in the woods near the house. Our ceremony is in the tradition of the Meetings for Worship that Josie has experienced for many years at Farm and Wilderness. Our hope is that we can sit together in a circle, sharing the silence and the opportunity for silent thought and reverie. Eventually there will be space for anyone to share their thoughts, good wishes or a reading with the group. We will close by exchanging vows. More information about our ceremony will be given on the big day!

Reception following the ceremony
Pig roast and local veggie feast!

Music and Dancing following the reception
The amazing Dave Wax and his band will play some Mexican folk music. Dave will be teaching us all some dances so we can cut the rug! Although, we'll be dancing in the unfinished living room, so it'll be more like cutting plywood. But without the sawdust.

Bonfire and gazing at the full moon

Sunday

Brunch
Please join us for a relaxed brunch on Pat and Ellen's porch before we part ways.

Other Information

Weather
We've got a tent, but hopefully things will be outside. Keep an eye towards the weather and bring something warm because nights can get chilly!

Kiddos
Please bring the whole family! We'll have some babysitters (two very responsible students from Josie's school) and plenty of food and drink just for them. Did someone say juice-boxes on ice?

Pets
Please leave your puppies (and kitties and ponies) at home.

Attire
As you can probably tell, most of our events will be outside on the grass, so ladies — leave those stilettos at home! Other than that, wear anything that you'd like — festive, funky, classy, comfy — whatever!
